Spritz & Snow!

We made it home for Christmas and have been pretty much snowed in! The amount of snow we have gotten in the Pacific Northwest has been record breaking and it is causing havoc on the home front. :) It has been a great excuse to cozy in with a warm fire and BAKE! My mom and I had a Christmas baking session last night making spritz cookies among many other yummy treats.

Wedding Season

In the past month we have been to a couple of really special weddings. Dennis, Chris' cousin, and Tessa got married in a very beautiful and intimate wedding in Portland on 11/29/08. It was so great to spend time with family and be there to celebrate with them.

The other recent wedding we went to was our good friends Kent & Rachel who got married on 12/19/08 in Puyallup. Chris and Kent played football together at PLU and also lived together for 2 years. Chris was an usher in the wedding. We are so thankful we could make it over snowy Snoqualmie Pass in time to be there for their big day.

Picture Perfect...

We had our first ultrasound today and it was AWESOME! It is so surreal to see that there is actually a baby inside of me! (If you click on the picture, you should be able to see it bigger.) Looks like Baby Lindo is trying to suck his/her thumb already! The baby was exactly the size it should be at this point. We also got to hear the heartbeat which was the most amazing sound we have ever heard! We are so thankful that everything is going well and that the baby is healthy and I am feeling great. On the other hand, it turns out that we may have a little trouble maker on our hands. The purpose of the ultrasound was to do a number of different tests and our little munchkin was not cooperating. The baby was in the one position that the test could not be performed in so we are going to have to go in again and get some bloodwork done sometime in the future (not a big deal). :) We didn't mind, though, because we got a glimpse of our baby and that was worth more than we could have asked for.

I have to share a funny story...Chris and I met at the clinic for our appointment, so we drove separately. Well, we both were very excited and Chris accidentally left his lights for the truck on. So...when we came out of our appointment (glowing), his truck was dead. I, however, didn't realize this (in my excitement) and just took off to drive home. Chris couldn't call me because I had forgotten my cell phone at home (we are a good pair, huh?). Luckily, Chris had his bike in the truck and rode his bike home! It gets better...when we were going back to jump his truck, we realized he had also locked his keys in the truck! After a long time of searching for our spare truck key, we finally found it and were able to go jump the truck. So funny!!!

We scheduled our 20 week ultrasound for January 26...that is when we will be able to find out the sex of the baby! Stay tuned and please keep Baby Lindo in your prayers. There is still a lot of growing to do!!!

12 Weeks!

Time has really been flying by and I am happy to say that I am 12 weeks pregnant today! That puts me just about through my first trimester. It is unbelievable to me that I am practically a third of the way done! Our baby is now about the size of a lime at 2.5 inches long. It is so amazing how quickly they grow...

Our baby's systems are pretty much fully formed and his/her reflexes are kicking in. Our baby is also starting to swallow, so that is exciting! :) We were just home for Thanksgiving and went to Portland for a wedding, so check back soon for some updates and pics. We have our next doc appointment Monday, Dec. 8 and will have an ultrasound done! We can't WAIT to see/hear our baby's heartbeat and will definitely post the first pics of our little one after that appointment...

Do you think you know what we are having??? Vote in the poll in the top right corner of our blog...
