24 Weeks - Final Verdict!

We had our 24 week ultrasound and check-up yesterday, and the final verdict is.....our baby is still a GIRL! :) She was a little more cooperative for this ultrasound, but not completely. She had an arm or hand in her face the whole time, so it was difficult to get a good face shot, but I think we got a couple cute ones still. She is still breach, but they aren't worried as she has plenty of time to make the flip. Her buns and legs were really low so it was hard for the tech to get an outstanding look at the genitalia but she was confident we are having a girl...and Chris could see the girl parts, so we are moving forward and thinking PINK! Chris got to sit in on women getting ultrasounds in a clinic for an entire day for school and feels pretty confident he saw all girl in there. He was cute during our ultrasound...was all giddy and lipsinking to "I Would Do Anything For Love" (by Meat Loaf) that was on the sound system playing in the room when the tech wasn't looking, while standing up right smack in front of the TV to see our girl. He kept making me laugh, which is not good for an ultrasound!

The doc told us our baby girl looked fantastic - her spine, nose/lips, heartbeat and everything else they were looking at, so we are very thankful. He told us we are rather boring, which is a great compliment because that means we are right on track! 24 weeks is a huge milestone for us as the baby is now viable and able to survive outside the womb (although it would be a tough road)...we want her to keep cooking for another 15 weeks or so.

Here are the pics we got...she looks a LOT bigger than our first ultrasound at 13 weeks - see pic in my blog entry: http://lindolane.blogspot.com/2008/12/picture-perfect.html!

Her hand is up by her mouth in this 3-D pic of her face...SO cute!

Profile - look at her cute button nose!

Various head shots...the 3-D one looks like she's smiling!

23 Weeks & New Experiences

It's time for another picture of my growing belly! We are now 23 weeks into it and I'm still feeling pretty great. I feel very blessed because of how easy my pregnancy has been so far...other than the baby using my bladder as a trampolene and for kickboxing practice, I really can't complain! It helps that I have an amazing hubby who is so supportive and helpful...and going through his OB/Pediatrics rotation in school right now so he really is gaining an understanding of what I'm going through! I know a lot of women have it a lot tougher than I have up to this point, so I am very thankful. It is weird to see pictures of my expanding self, but fun to think it's all because Baby Lindo is growing! She is now over 11 inches long and weighs more than a pound!!! I read that in the next 4 weeks she will double in size...maybe that's why my appetite is so big lately?!We have another ultrasound on Wednesday, 2/25, so we can't wait to see her again and will hopefully be able to get 100% confirmation on the sex! We will see...she hasn't cooperated very well so far! :) I will post pics for sure.

This last week has given us all some new experiences as well. I have been feeling the baby move a lot stronger and Chris got to feel her move for the first time on Monday, 2/16/09! It was so awesome to have him experience that. She loves Daddy!

Another new and random experience for me this week was being "marked." Chris and I took Koda to the dog park over the weekend and as I was just standing there minding my own business watching all the dogs run around, I felt something hit my leg...I looked down to see a dog named Tucker just lowering his leg from PEEING ON ME!!! I was so SHOCKED I couldn't help but laugh...and then tell Chris we needed to get out of there! See the evidence below...SICK! HAHA! I will never forget good ole' Tucker...

CHA-CHING!

Bare with me on this one....I'm just excited and all of my frugal friends will appreciate this. I just have to share about a little secret that some of you may know about, but others might not. All I have to say is 2 words...COIN STAR! Chris and I found a lot of coins around our house that had been collecting for quite a while and took them to a Coin Star at Albertsons to have them redeemed and ended up with two different $15 Starbucks cards (one for each of us) and almost $10 worth of i-tunes! If you have Coin Star give you cash for your change, they take almost $.09 per dollar, but if you have them redeem into a gift card of choice (Starbucks, i-tunes, Amazon, JCPenney, etc.) they don't charge a fee and a card shoots out! WE WERE STOKED! We raided our house and went back twice today after our first trip ended in such success. The best part is after all the change has been counted and you cash in, the machine says "CHA-CHING!" :) It's the little things in life that make us happy....Starbucks here we come.
