Easton Photoshoot

Little Mr. Easton Dean ("EZD" as we like to call him) just turned 8 months old and his mommy (my friend Sarah Murphy) asked me to take some pics of him! I was so honored that she asked me! I had so much fun and Hadley was happy to get me out of her face with our camera, at least for a few moments. He is so stinkin cute! He was full of smiles and did awesome for me. We went to a park by our house for the first pics and then back to our house in my makeshift "studio" for some fun pics of him in a cowboy hat and his Halloween costume (that he isn't too fond of wearing, by the way).

Photography has always been a passion of mine and now that I am a SAHM (stay-at-home-mommy), I have some time to pursue this hobby a little more and possibly start a little side business. If anyone wants some pics of your family, kiddos or for some other special occasion, let me know!!!

3 Months is FUNNY

Sorry for the lack of blogging lately...with Chris starting his last semester of school, he needs the computer most of the time, so I have to take it when I can get it! Hadley is already 3 months old - craziness! She is such a fun and good baby - so smiley all the time and now she giggles (see video above)! She jabbers, smiles at herself in mirrors, sucks on her hands, can hold small toys, and is sleeping an average of 10 hours straight every night (in her own crib - we just transitioned her last week from the co-sleeper in our room to the crib in her room...probably could have done it sooner, but mom was holding out)...GOOD GIRL! (I am ending every sentence with an exclamation point today!!!) When life is crazy with tough things, Hadley always lifts our spirits and brings us so much joy!

An Amazing Quilt

In the mail a couple weeks ago, we received the most amazing quilt for Hadley! It was made by my Grandma Lenore's two nieces...who we have NEVER even met! They have taken over a tradition their mother started of making a quilt for all new babies in the family. It amazes me these two women spent their time, money, and energy making a quilt for Hadley - their extended-extended family member! From what my grandma tells us, they don't even live in the same town as each other, so they send it back and forth to work on it, each working on different parts of the quilt. They have made 12 quilts so far and have more to make with babies on the way! It is totally personalized for Hadley with her name all over it and the stats of her birth, etc. It is so special, I just had to share some pics of Haddy on it. I hope to be as thoughtful as these women to people I have never even met...what a great example. (You can click on the pics to see the quilt larger)

Update on Kathy

Sorry it took me so long to get an update on here about Kathy...it was a whirlwind crazy week! The day we got to Seattle (the day before Kathy's surgery) we found out that one of our good friends, John "Nellie" Nelson had passed away. He was such an amazing guy...someone who had been in my life for 20 years. I am going to write more about him later today or tomorrow. His service is today at PLU, so we drove back again from the T-Cities for it. It still hasn't really sunk in for us...so I will give you an update on Kathy before I share more about him.

Kathy's surgery went as well as we could have hoped. They got the entire tumor out and she recovered from surgery as quickly as she could have and is actually home already. The surgeon confirmed that the tumor was cancer metastasized from her colon, so they assume the 2nd one they didn't take out is the same. The plan next is to hit both spots with radiation, so once she recovers from surgery they will plan their attack. Thank for your prayers and please keep them coming!
