Planes, Boats, & Gondolas...

Last week my family took a last minute trip to Lake Tahoe! Every year, my immediate fam and our spouses/kids take a trip together, but we didn't think we could pull it off this year with babies being born, etc...but I'm so glad we DID! We rented a great house right on the water and my parents brought their boat, "Johnny Time." It was such a great time together - as Rees and Cole (our nephews) called it, "vacation." They weren't really sure what "vacation" was, and I think they now think it is Lake Tahoe! We relaxed, went on boat rides, fished off the dock (and caught crazy amounts of fish with just bread on the hook!), and just hung out. We had never met our niece, Selah (pronounced "Say-La"), before this trip...she is only 3 months older than Hadley, so they were 2 peas in a pod! Their daily activies included sitting in the bouncy chair and the swing and then swapping! It will be so much fun when they are old enough to play together! Rees and Cole are growing so much and since they live in Fresno, we don't get to see them very often. We hadn't seen them since Christmas, so they had grown so much since then - and it is always great to have time with my bro, Chad, and my sis-in-law, Michelle. My parents were pretty much in hog-heaven to have all of their grandkids in one place! (By the way - what exactly is hog-heaven? I bet there's NO BACON!!!) :)

This trip included a lot of "firsts" for Hadley in the way of transportation....she took her first plane ride, first boat ride, and first gondola ride up a mountain! She was a trooper and pretty much slept during ALL of these things....which made us happy! What a huge blessing that she travels so well!

The only thing that would have made this trip better was if my other bro and his wife (Jason & Christie) could have come....they were in Spain walking hundreds of miles (it's a long story - check out his blog "Really Playing for Pizza" for more details), so they couldn't just hop on over as easy as we all could. Hopefully next year we all can make it!
